The rest of the Video Party

I uploaded too soon...oops! Ok, in this video Claire says "Boo!" for Peek-a-Boo and "Shoe"--and she calls socks and shoes both shoes. In the video below you can hear her quack (been quacking forever it seems like!) as well as neigh like a horse and the newest which is snorting like a pig which is also a little hard to hear, but watch how she sort of wrinkles her face up. She is also squeaking like a mouse and mewing like a kitten. She loves the animals so much!

Here she is in her jumper! She still loves it, although I'm afraid she's going to break it because she jumps so violently! It's funny because sometimes she will put her dolls in there or her swing and say "Whee!" as she moves them appropriately.

Here is Claire enjoying an Ice Cream Cone. YUMMY! She loves ice cream more than life itself! :) She also likes these Pedialyte Ice Pop things, which I'm sure are full of sugar and fake dye so I probably won't buy them again. One of my New Year's Goals was to buy more and more organic stuff as much as possible. It is hard though as stuff is not widely available.

Ok, I know I post a lot of footage of her in the highchair, but it's easy to film as she's not trying to climb on me, grab the camera, or poke at the light or lens. :) Plus she is distracted by the food. I can't even keep track of all the stuff she's saying anymore. Her language button basically clicked on when she started liking food around Christmas.

We tried the booster seat for a few days, but put it in the spare room, as the mess was a lot harder to clean up when it was caked all over the table. It's much easier to wash a high chair tray. Plus, she was pushing against the table and moving herself away to get down...resulting in a big mess of course.

So my stitches are so itchy right now that I want to rip them out with a pencil and then scratch them with some sandpaper. Ahh...just thinking about that makes me feel some relief! The doctor's office called. I don't have skin cancer from the mole biopsy...but the best part? No more moles on my shoulder. Yay. I know you really wanted to see pictures of my stitches too the other day. Ha!

Reading Books

Claire is sporting a warm cream-colored sweater made by my late Grandmother, Laverne. It has a matching hat that will keep her bald little head warm!

She is in love with peek-a-boo flap-type books right now! She loves the hidden things!

These overalls have little apples on them. There is a matching shirt with apples on the collar.

"What are you taking my picture for? You're going to have a hard time keeping up with future siblings, you do realize?!?!"

"Put the camera down and come read this book to me for the 42nd time today!"

Building with Blocks

Claire loves to build block towers! She likes to knock them down too or have us build them so she can knock them down. Her jammies have Christmas Stockings on them. So cute!

"Seriously mom, you are burning up my retinas here. TOO MANY PICTURES!"

"I'm going to get out these clothes now!"

My Little Ham!

This is the usual state of things: an utter mess. Notice all the laundry in the crib along with the trash can in the back (since she can throw stuff over and in if it's in the front. Also, notice the baby towel hanging on the side. See, cribs can be useful for something, even if your baby will not sleep in one! She is sitting on her suitcase. Believe it or not, I have completely unpacked, done and put away all the laundry, and picked up more than once since I took this! :)

Yes, she has a ballpoint pen. She snatches them off our desks or counters whenever she gets her hot little hands near the edges. She is really good at getting up on her tip toes and reaching stuff off of the edges of tables as well. She has also figured out how to use another object to knock off something. How did she even figure that one out! Notice my ghetto-fab baby-proofing in the background. To keep her from emptying her drawers, I have to tie them shut. She can't reach into the top one yet. She is signing for more in this picture...she is doing that all the time now for everything...

I am practicing with her to get her to look at the camera and say "Cheese!" She is getting pretty good!

I think this is my new favorite picture of her, especially because the hat she has on doesn't really match. She insists on wearing hats around the house. I think it's because we wear them to go outside. It's fine with me, and it's funny to boot!

She really loves to sit in her little chairs and this little highchair that was actually my highchair for dolls when I was little! She fits just right!

Yup! That's my little ham! :)

We have Miss Fishy-face!

Well, Claire has added a few new signs to her vocab. In the past month she's started to do cookie and butterfly as well as again and tree. She has started to say "neigh" for a horse. And she has discerned the fishy lips from kissing! I'd like to take the credit for this by reading her http://www.amazon.com/Alligator-Alphabet-Stella-Blackstone/dp/1841484946/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1227725234&sr=1-1 at least 42 times on the way to and from WI recently. It may have been more than 42. I decided not to count. If I started to read something else, she'd get mad! I now have this book memorized. Ask me to recite it if you would like a performance. It has a page that says "T is for Trout...etc" SO I think by this book as well as seeing them at the library and doctors offices recently somewhere it clicked. But what's cool is that I actually got her doing it in the highchair where she INITIATED it, and we hadn't read any fish books that morning! So she gets it and isn't just imitating this one anymore like I thought she had been doing the past couple weeks.

She can also say "cheese" as you see below. She also has started to say pretty, kitty, tree, and door. She will sometimes say "thank you" when you hand her something.

She really liked the tuna noodle dish! Maybe that's because I tried to eat tuna once a week while preggers?

16 months already!

Here's a quick look back to last year at this time! Claire was at her chubby stage!!! She was 19 lbs. by 4 months. No wonder she fell off the chart at her 15 month appt!!!

It's hard to believe that Claire and Chloe are now both walking...running and saying words when last year at this time, tummy time was an issue for them! :)

Claire also had her first swim last year in the pool!

First trip to the beach...etc...you can always go back to clairejoystarr.com for more fun review pictures!

And now we have some never before seen footage!!! I actually have a lot of footage I have never posted!

So last year at this time, we were in Florida at Glama Lynn's and Grandpa Jason's famous Christmas House for Thanksgiving. The warmth and swimming pool were glorious!

At least tomorrow is supposed to get up to 50 here in Indy....not too bad!
