30 Day Challenge: Day 10

30 Day Challenge: Day 10 is a photo of me taken over 10 years ago:

This is with my older brother David, younger sister Holly, and little brother Richard. I was probably about 8 since Richie looks about 1.

Uncle David and Auntie KK

My brother David and his wife Kristin came down recently to visit us. And go see Jimmy Buffett in Indy, too ;)
David looks like he'll be such a good daddy!

Wait...is he trying to breastfeed Alex? ;)

Here is Kristin holding Alex and looking at my awesome birth story by Carla, which is much longer and includes pictures vs. the one I wrote here on my blog. It's also told from her point of view and is much more factual and exact!

I still can't believe David got into this house. He is super-duper tall!

Foam Sweet Foam

Yes, we finally got Claire and Alex a play house. It's called "FOAM SWEET FOAM" which is made of this super cool hard foamy stuff. Josh put it together. It came in a flat box, of course.
It's super duper cute and really sturdy. Claire LOVES IT! It even has flowers that she can pretend to water and some fake birds she likes to feed her plastic food to. It even has a mailbox. I like to hide stuff in there and then tell her to go check her mailbox if she needs a distraction. It doesn't even need to be anything new. :)
The mailbox is on the left of the door. Claire loves to help me get mail and make birthday cards for people. She is obsessed with my address stamper. I need to get her some more stamp stuff because she loves it! I gave her some cards/envelopes to put in her mailbox, and she has had a blast with those. You can actually see 2 postcards laying on the ground! Notice all the crap she has put in there! Click on it to make it big.

And even more amazing...my brother David managed to crawl into the house with her...and was able to get out without removing the roof.
We actually told Claire the house was from Alexander! :) More photos to come of David's visit.

Popcorn Parade!

Here we are gathered on my Aunt Lee's porch on parade day:

Walking from her house downtown to the parade:

Watching the parade with friends and family:

Claire totally crashed out in her stroller. One bad thing about umbrella strollers is that they don't recline. She asked to lay the back down on this one! Yay!

Make-Over Party

To kick off Holly's bachelorette party, we had a make-over party. Claire was wearing her jammies since I thought she would crash out. She went all day without a nap! And she was still up at 7 pm when we were doing make-up! And that is 8 our time!
Claire quickly befriends Mika who was feeding her yogurt drops. They are one of her favorite snacks!

We all got mirrors to look in and headbands to keep our hair back from our make-up.

David joined in the fun. I think the head band looks great on him!

It's hard to believe that he was "Bic" bald last Jan.!!!

Claire tries out her headband!

Suz being goofy as Kristin P. listens closely.

Claire is blowing David a kissy!

I don't wear lipstick. Ever. I prefer Chapstick! I think this color is off, don't you?

The lady in the jacket was the Mary Kay lady who told us how to put stuff on and helped us pick the right colors.

My mom, Arlene, Kristin Busse, and Kami listen to the Mary-Kay lady.

Goofy Gross and Mitmoen Families!

These are from the WI dells/waterpark/funeral weekend. Erich got funky teeth from winning tickets in the arcade. He got $20 in arcade tokens since his room wasn't ready yet!

Lake Delton--or what was

As you probably heard, this summer Lake Delton had a few issues this summer. http://www.channel3000.com/news/16551812/detail.html On Sunday morning we took a little outing to see what the lake or "non" lake looked like. If you've never heard of Wisconsin Dells, you must be from the Indy area and not the Chicago land area. WI Dells or THE DELLS is a huge summer get-away and the Water Park Capital of the US.
David and Erich were much braver than me. I didn't even go on the lake bed at all!

This is why: SINKHOLES! Plus I had Claire in the Bjorn and was wearing clogs. I did not want to get sandy socks. I also did not want to get stuck like Richard did this past summer! Smart guy also stayed on the beach!

You can see me standing up on the shore. I'm the one with the baby! Here is Holly walking back. Aren't her hat/scarf/mittens gorgeous!!! She made them!

Ah, yes, Holly with a camera in hand. And she also made Mark's hat and scarf here. It's a very nice green and gray.

Holly, it looks like you should make Erich and David some hats as they aren't wearing any!

Richard said this past summer it was just a mud hole, and now the vegetation is growing in the lake bed. It's amazing how it will do that!

Yes, it looked very different than the past several times I've seen it or taken Duck Rides on it. That's right. You can ride on Ducks. If you never have ridden a Duck, you really must do this before you die! http://www.dellsducks.com/

We stayed 2 nights in the Dells since it wasn't too far from Mt. Horeb where the funeral was. I'll post pictures soon of the hotel stay, etc. Oh yeah, it had an indoor water park. :) Apparently David who booked all the rooms wanted to put the FUN in FUNeral. Our family is something else...
