The Infamous "Happy Elmo" Song

Eep...Claire turned 21 months last week, AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE! That means...IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS....I WILL HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD! WOW! Ok, so here is her favorite song ever...enjoy:

Woke up Dry!

Today Claire woke up dry and was saying "Potty!" before I was even awake. I sat her on the potty, and she went. I was so excited about her waking up dry. How do you even night-time train?!? I kept saying WOW and signing it. Then when I went pee Claire said, "Mama, Potty, WOW!" and enthusiastically signed it over and over! :)

Seriously Flocked

Our church youth group flocked our yard with 50 bright pink flamingos. It was a fundraiser that they did. Claire loved them. She was calling them "Quack, Quacks!"

Toddler Milestones

Here is a cool chart of Toddler Milestones. At the bottom you can click for different age groups: http://www.babycenter.com/0_milestone-chart-19-to-24-months_1496591.bc Neat, huh?!

Adorable Easter Outfit

Here is Claire with her life-sized Barbie friend from Glama Lynn and Grandpa Jason. It's actually still bigger than her!

She loves saying "Barbie" and calls anything that looks like a Barbie, like the Disney Princesses, "Barbie." She likes to give Barbie kisses.

She also likes to help Barbie talk on the phone. I'm guessing it's Ken.

I love this little Easter dress. It's actually a 3T so I'm hoping it still fits her next year. It was a little big! But man, look how long her legs are! These shoes are a 6 1/2 and fit perfectly; thanks Oma and Opa!

The butterfly and all the flowers and bunnies are raised. It's quite possibly the cutest dress I've ever seen. So how long after Easter is over can I have her wear this?

Chatty Claire-Bear

Here is a video of Claire saying some cute things:

Claire enjoys eating these Pedialyte ice pops. I think she is teething as she loves to gnaw on them where her teeth are coming in.

Special Birthday Friend

Claire has a special "Birthday Friend." They actually were born on the same day! Same hospital, same doctor even! It was really funny when we were talking about this. Melissa said there was someone next door to her just screaming her head off (me birthing Claire) but it finally stopped about 2 or 2:30. Ha. Claire was born at 2:10...then there was the placenta. I laughed and told her, HA! That was me. So I got to apologize to her for screaming while she was getting ready to have Elle.

Here is our playdate with Elle:
Claire is mad jealous of all of Elle's gorgeous hair! Ok, maybe I am.

Claire gets into her car now without opening the door. She has been doing this for awhile now, but this is the first time I was able to capture it on the camera! Dukes of Hazzard, watch out!

They had a good time playing and their mommies had a good time chatting. :)

Sling Babies...Risky?

Ok, check this out: http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/archive/2009/04/24/sling-babies-at-your-own-risk.aspx and my comment is any contraption involving a child is risky... think HIGHCHAIRS! And now Claire will do a dive out of the carseat the second I unbuckle her...that is pretty risky! And speaking of CARSEATS...how many hundreds of injuries have resulted from accidents involving those being set in an inappropriate place...

Professional Photos of Holly's Wedding

Want some Worms for Dinner

Ew, ew, ew. http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/archive/2009/04/23/hot-dogs-with-spaghetti-inside-what-s-not-for-dinner.aspx Yuck. I hate hotdogs to begin with. NASTY.

Even Greater Benefits?

Wow. Breastfeeding is now believed to offer even greater benefits than believed before. Check it out: http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/strollerderby/archive/2009/04/23/breastfeeding-benefits-for-moms-greater-than-previously-believed.aspx What do you think?

Baby's First 9-1-1 Call

Yup. Claire made her first emergency call today. Ha. We were going to her 21 month weight check. Wow! 21 months on April 21st! Happy Day Claire! :) And while we were in the elevator, she pushed the emergency call button which was like a speaker phone that connected me to a live person. Oops. I was like, "Sorry, my toddler pressed the button." She does a great job of pressing the outside elevator buttons. I have to always watch her inside though because it seems like the ringing emergency bells are always the lowest! EEP!

Dr. W. was very pleased with her growth. She was 27.5 lbs naked and stood on the big kid scale for the first time! She jumped up to almost the 70th percentile for her weight and is back on her own growth curve. She was also just over 35 inches, as I predicted. Her growth curve stayed consistent on height. That leaves her the same at about the 95-97th percentile for height.

She also got her blood drawn from the inside of her arm like a grown-up to check for her iron levels. We should get the results back soon. I know she loves her Flintstones vitamins with Iron, so hopefully that level will be good.

It's hard to imagine that LAST YEAR at this time she had 0 teeth, (now she has 13!) she had not yet crawled or pulled to sitting, she wasn't eating solids at all!, she only said 3 words (Mama, Dada, and Baby), and she was only 24 lbs. :) Haha. Yes, she lost some weight once she started walking, but I think she's balanced out now!

Here is a cute video for you. She still fits in this dress! Check it out:

And another short, sweet video of her kissing me at the tender age of 8 months, which seems so, so long ago:

And another one, that always makes me laugh, and is a great one for me to play when I trim her nails as it distracts her:

Weren't those just the cutest videos ever? I had those on File Hurricane, but hadn't started blogging at that time.

Holly's Dress

Holly wore my mom's wedding dress which was made in 1973. It was beautiful. She made the Aberdeen blog. Check out the post here http://aberdeenmanor.blogspot.com/2009/04/making-your-day-your-day.html and you can read more about the dress! Aberdeen was a great location to have their wedding!
