At the Museum!

Today Claire and I went to the Indianapolis Children's Museum with our friends Kristen and Carolyn Dawn.

Here Claire plays in the Playscape area with the water table toys. Carolyn and Claire had lots of fun today! Claire is 12 months and Carolyn (who you see in the background of this video) is 2 1/2. They really got along well! :)

Here is a video on FileHurricane of more time playing in the PlayScape: http://filehurricane.com/media/2657 Here Carolyn plays with blocks, as Claire checks out the trains.

FileHurricane uploads faster than Blogger!

Claire had a great time playing and looking at all the people and other kids. She took a great nap the whole way home and continued once we were home!

Here Fishy Fishy!

Claire likes to swim. Josh got her this little backyard above ground pool for her birthday.

I think she is part fish! She has always loved the bath tub. I hope she didn't get her ear infections from the pool...but she was also at the Dr. last week, and she could've picked up something while we were there!

Claire is very good at waving now and loves to wave to everyone wherever we go. It's so adorable!

Today we had a busy day! Claire was feeling much better after getting a regular nights sleep last night! This morning we went to the pool store to get more chlorine tablets for the pool. We also tried to find some bigger jammies at Peebles, but as usual, their selection sucked.

So after coming home for lunch and a nap, we headed up to the north side. We found some new jammies at Old Navy and the Carter's Outlet by the Fashion Mall. Then we hit up Trader Joe's. We got some dark Spaten beer for Daddy. They have a lot of "unique" food items that are hard to find anywhere else. My favorite is the 4 cheese frozen pizzas they have as they taste very authentic to what I actually have eaten in Italy. Yum.

So now she's sleeping as we have another busy day planned tomorrow!

Poor Little Panda

Here you can see Claire's 2 top front teeth really good. I still haven't gotten a picture of her bottom 2. Her lip covers them up, so it's hard to get a picture of them! She is getting way too long for her changing table! I wish the ends were more open.

Here you can see how bright red her cheeks are! Last night when I nursed her about midnight she felt really hot. So I took her temp. and it was 102! Yikes!!!

So we gave her some Children's Motrin and went back to sleep. Then today she was still cranky and clingy. I knew she didn't feel good. So we went to the doctor. Poor little Panda Claire has inner ear infections in both ears, as well as a post nasal drip. Uh-oh. I thought her cheeks were just dry, so I had slathered them up with clear A & D. So the doctor gave her a script for amoxicillian.

When I picked it up from Walgreens, I pulled the paper bag out of the little delivery shoot thing, and everything spilled on the ground. Oh joy. Sooo I was too close to open my door. I had to pull all the way forward to get the 2 bottles and medicine spoon. I tried giving it to her with the spoon they gave me. BAD IDEA. It went everywhere. So then this evening we gave it to her with a medicine syringe, which worked much better.

So hopefully we'll all sleep better tonight...and she only pooped 3 times today. ALTHOUGH, one was big enough to leak out the leg of the Pampers, which hasn't happened for a LONG TIME. She had about 1/2 container #1 pears for breakfast and for dinner, Daddy was able to feed her about 1/4 of a YoBaby Yogurt. So better than nothing!

Uncle David Visits

Here is my brother David with Claire in her highchair. She just ate some yogurt.

Now David is going to sample this delicious little baby Claire. She is sweet, after all.

Here David prepares for the road.

Last night, after Claire was asleep, Uncle David rolled in to visit. This morning we had fun looking at his and Kristin's honeymoon pictures from Yellowstone, Canada, and other state parks. Claire made him bacon and eggs while he installed baby locks on the lower kitchen cabinets. But of course the best part of the day was when David gave me a massage on his massage table while Claire crawled around. We're glad he moved closer!

Claire also set a record today by pooping four times. FOUR. She hasn't pooped that much for months. Well maybe you didn't want to know this, but pooping is an important part of daily baby life. I will spare a description of each one, but none of them were little.

How she's grown!

Claire likes to empty her dresser drawers if I forgot to tie them shut with the ribbon. OH FUN!

A year ago today, this is how tiny little Clairesey was! And now she's big and getting into stuff!

I was just looking at Claire's shot/weight record. A year ago today, she went in for her one week check-up and was 6.14...down over a pound from her birth. That is crazy that for this whole past year she has thrived on my milk only. She's just started to eat anything else in about the past 3 weeks.
She has had a rough day. I accidently cut her skin while trying to trim her nails :( Then she hit her head on the upstairs coffee table while trying to cruise along it holding something and "dancing." Then once she was "all better" and happy after nursing, she did a face plant on the floor. Poor baby!

Please be a Blog Bugger

Claire has discovered the camera lens. I'm not sure if she likes the lights/flash or her reflection, or maybe she just sees that it moves.
I LOVE THIS OUTFIT! Of course with my screen name for aim being strwberryjoy -- it's granted I love all things strawberry! This is from my mom, Oma (German for Grandma).

These photos are actually from the end of May. As you can see the huge child safety hazard in the background...the black cord. She used to not be able to reach over it. Then one day it came crashing down. Then it was time to rearrange.

Well my goal is to Blog at least once a week, so I'm on quite the roll right now. :) If I haven't posted in awhile, be a Blog Bugger and bug me to post. Chances are if I'm not posting, I have more than enough things to post about.

So what did we do today? Well we always do something, it seems!

Well today we went to church and Claire was acting fussy, so we slipped out early. She fell asleep on the way home and slept for 2 hours. Then we went over to Toys-R-Us on Washington and got a nice baby gate for the top of the steps. It has a door so we just open and shut it rather than the pressure mounted gate which I was afraid if she leaned on it, it might give way anyway. So now Josh is installing it. Hopefully the drilling won't wake her up, but I think she had a very long day.
Then we also went to a big furniture store on Washington called L. Fish, looking for a "child-friendly" coffee table. Such a thing does not exist. Now, on the other hand, if you are looking for something to get a good use out of your insurance coverage, then you would be in good shape with all the glass, stone, and otherwise deadly-looking coffee tables.
Then we ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Claire enjoyed leaning over and laughing at all the other people, while throwing bits of food all over the floor. I particularly enjoyed this as I did not have to clean any of it up. We made sure to give her lots of bits of bread and discovered she really likes the shredded cheese from the salad. She likes steak too. :) She ate an entire 8 oz. one all by herself. (If you believe that, you clearly do not have a 1-year old.) Well, to finish off the meal, Claire proceeded to poop in the high chair, giving her compliments to the chef.
It's always fun trying to change a baby in a grimy restroom stall that stinks like, well, what people normally do in restrooms. I find those little plastic changing tables that flip down from the wall to be a bit cheap looking. They are equally cheap when you put your baby on them. I do not like public restrooms and prefer changing her in the car any day.
Have a happy Sunday, and enjoy blog stalking our family. ;) Btw...I used to blog before the average person KNEW what the term blog meant. And I got tired of it, before it was in. It was sort of the same deal with cell phones. I had one WAY back in 2000 and NOBODY ever called me on it. Then I stopped using one for awhile before going back. NOW we don't have a landline. Which also reminds me that Josh and I started renting NETFLIX the summer of 1999 before a lot of people knew the term DVD. And now EVERYONE has at least heard of NETFLIX. (YAYA MOVIES!) SOOO that brings me to the end of today's rambles...hopefully this blog will continue to be fun and interesting...so leave your comments and questions...and don't send the link to anyone who doesn't want to see the FileHurricane's RSS Feed at the bottom of this page. ;)
