Pretty in Pink

I enjoy taking lots of pictures, and I am pleasantly surprised I was able to capture a few of Claire's face. It's harder when she can go crawl away!

I would say 99.9% of her outfits are pink. But that's how it should be for a little baldy, right! Otherwise they think she's a boy!

Can you just hear her laughing in this one. Just play some Peek-A-Boo with a blankie to get her going!

Isn't this a cute dress? Claire got it for her Bday from the Thomas.

This morning we went to the Broad Ripple LLL, which is always fun. We went with Christy and Catrece. Unfortunately, Claire smacked Catrece after giving her 3 kisses. I felt pretty bad. Now, if I could just teach her to be gentle... all the time :( She smacks me and Josh once in awhile but it's pretty different with a baby half her size!

She's doing hard time.

Claire now has a nice baby gate at the top of the stairs. From the bottom of the stairs it looks like she is in jail.

Now we don't have to move the one we had all the time. This one has a door that opens/shuts.

Gravity Always Wins

Claire loves to play with her bucket. She likes to put stuff in and out of it.

She also loves to do the "SO BIG!" She puts her arms above her head and "talks."

This is a funny picture of Claire, but I had to post it because the doll blankie was caught in mid-air. How awesome is our camera?! She has discovered throwing things is fun. She loves to drop things and watch them fall. She is a little scientist. She is discovering that gravity will always win!

And she's definitely still teething. Here she is chomping away on a dolly baby powder container. Sometimes she tries to cram stuff way in there. At least she's gotten past the stage where she'd gag herself. :)
Today we tried to go see a free movie at the theatre with our friends Christy and baby Catrece. Apparently when you say "free movie" everyone flocks to see it because that place was more packed than I'd EVER seen it! Wow. People are cheap. Oh wait, we had tried to get in. But who wants to sit packed in a theatre where every seat is full!? So we went out to an early lunch instead. Claire enjoyed dropping some cereal puffs on the floor and smearing some blueberries from my pancakes around the table.

Crap Bomb Mayhem...

She looks so sweet and innocent playing with her shoes. (Who needs toys when you have fun and interesting shoes to investigate!?)

"Houston, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" Note the Pampers has leaked up the back and gotten poop everywhere. Yuck.

So then I strip her down, and put her in her new cloth diaper that I've been using for about a week. I thought they weren't so bad. I'd wait until after her morning poo. Then she'd just pee in the diapers and pee cloth diapers aren't so bad to wash. So here you see Claire below, still playing with her shoes. I was trying to get a good picture of her in her FuzzyBuns Diaper, but her eyes are shut. Oh well. I may never put her in another cloth diaper after what you see below.

AS I WAS TAKING THIS PICTURE....she pooped again. I guess she wasn't done. Oops. As you can see next to her size 5 Nike (which I scored at a yard sale for $1), the "leak" was not little.
Now, I've had Pampers leak out the leg, but NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE, this bad. EVER. You can see it leaked out the leg and got all over the carpet and the outside of the diaper. Wow. SO. NOT. WHERE. I. WANT. IT. TO. BE!

I will only ever use Pampers or Huggies disposables because everything else is just cheap and leaks for us. I am not too happy on spending $15+ on 2 cloth diapers to try them out and have this happen. Note she is in the bathtub in the above picture with the diaper still on. Sadly, Josh was at work and couldn't help me. (I'm sure he was sad. LOL!)

So first, I had to spray all the poo down the drain, then I gave her a regular bath. She loves her Nemo fishy and using her hair-rinse cup to pour water. (Please no comments on how she doesn't have any hair to wash :) LOL! ) You can actually see it better when her hair is wet.

I know she's getting bored when she tries to climb out of the tub. I fear the day that she actually is able to throw her leg over the edge and falls flat on her face or does some crazy splits...

I try to get her to sit down while the tub drains. She reaches for the washcloth bar and pulls up to bang on the other side. It makes a lovely noise!

Claire blows you an online kissy! She's all clean and fresh. FOR NOW! I felt all inspired to use the cloth diapers today after attending the East LLL group. So that was my shitty afternoon after we got home. ;) Pun intended.

Claire's Crib

Here Claire is sitting in her crib. I love the Winnie-the-Pooh mobile. However, I do think the cuddly little critters do look like they have all been lynched...

I wanted to get these letters for her room since she was born. I would've ordered them ahead of time, but I thought...what if it's a boy. Plus we couldn't decide on a name. So...a WHOLE YEAR LATER...here they are!

Here is Claire's room, slightly rearranged. She loves to hang on the side of the crib and jump up and down. Well, it's more of a bounce. Her feet remain on the mattress.

Well, I was really good about posting daily and then didn't post all weekend. We had a busy weekend. We went up to Babies R Us and got Claire some more jammies and a push-toy that she can walk behind and ride on. It's pretty awesome. We also discovered the most awesome burger joint in the world, called FIVE GUYS. You'd never know what it was from the name, but they have the most awesome burgers and yummy french fries. It's in Castleton, not far from the Trader Joe's! I'd eaten there in April out in DC, so I was pretty excited to see one here in the Midwest. Apparently, there's also one in Greenwood. We've also gotten Claire's crib moved into her room, as you see above. Below is a video of a recent boo-boo! Ouchie!
