Tube Time

Well Alexander will be getting tubes this week.  I suppose an ENT with years of experience has more knowledge than me... 4 infections in 4 months plus continuing fluid is the issue.  We're having him tested for allergies, but it's more of an anatomy issue in his case.  Given Josh's 90% bilateral H.I. we don't want to dink around with Alex's hearing.

Tricky

Today I came home after being gone a few hours for a baby shower.  Claire said, "Mommy, I have to tell you something.  I have a tricky Daddy.  He likes to give me chocolate everytime when you are gone."  Hehe.

She's also big into pretend right now.  She'll say something goofy like, "I'm going to turn into a caterpillar and crawl into your ear to sleep."

She continues to say "gumbleball" vs. gum ball.  Instead of saying "dizzy" she replaces it with the word "busy"  so if she's spinning in a circle, she might say, "Oh, I feel busy."  Or this can be really funny when she yells, "I'm getting busy!"

Instead of saying "I'm excited."  She will say "I'm exciting."

Again, all too cute to correct!  She'll correct them on her own soon enough!

For her prayer she used to say "We thank "we" now." vs. "We thank "thee" now."  And she's corrected it on her own...it was cuter the other way!

More Giggles

I was giving Alex a bath tonight.  Claire was watching.  Alex was enjoying his diaper freedom and freely grabbing himself, in true post-6 month baby boy fashion (the age when all boys discover their penis and start grabbing it, confirmed by other mothers of boys!).  Claire said, "Mommy.  Tell him not to do that.  He's going to pick his penis off."

I was looking for my phone tonight.  Claire asked me, "Why can't you remember where your phone is, Mom?!"  I said, "I'm old and my memory is gone."  She was so kind, and replied, "That's ok mom, I will give you some of my memories."  Giggle!

An Apple A Day

I asked Claire if she wanted me to cut up her apple.  She replied, "No.  I just want to eat it put together."  Meaning of course, not to cut it up! :)

I asked Claire if she was excited to go back tomorrow after winter break.  She was all excited and said, "Yeah!  Winter is over."  Hmm.  Just because all the snow melted...

Alexander has discovered great amusement with opening and shutting the toy kitchen oven door.  He likes to slam it shut repeated and giggle hysterically.  He thinks this is quite funny.  He can only reach that door sitting...just wait until that boy can start crawling!

Alex can scoot backwards when he pushes himself up on his knees...any day now he'll get the forward motion down, though he is quite adept at reaching!!!  He has also pulled himself to sitting for the first time yesterday at 8 months!
