I <3 NY

I do. I heartses NYC! I can't believe the plane went down yesterday in the river and everything happened the way it did. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/01/15/new.york.plane.crash/ Thank God it wasn't raining. Thank God it wasn't the middle of the night. Thank God it wasn't as cold there as it was here yesterday (-5 with a -22 windchill). Thank God he decided to land there instead of trying to make it back to the airport or the NJ airport he'd called into. I mean...everything that could go right in the case where something goes horribly insanely wrong, went right. And on all days? The last day Bush speaks to the public? What the ...? It's amazing that they all got OUT of the plane and the commuter ferries got there so fast. I mean...if that had happened ANYWHERE else...there would not have been all those ferry boats. There would have been more severe hypothermia and probably a couple drownings. Josh said there was a baby on board. I can't imagine it would do well in the water. I was trying to Google for more info on it, but have yet to find anything. Josh said that the clip he saw, there was another passenger who said that the mom had to give the baby to someone else while she was climbing over seats? And I don't know about those details, but I do know that I would probably NEVER let go of Claire in an emergency like that. I do also remember that when we flew to FL last Turkey Day, that the Flight Attendant made a mom across the aisle from me take her little 4 month old boy OUT of her baby Bjorn because FAA regulations says babies can't be in slings during take off or landings. THAT SEEMS RETARDED. Seems like of ALL times, that would be the safest. Plus, Mom could safely exit, hands free, in an event such as this one. I think someone has their head up their ass about that topic...but that's another rant.

But well done NY! Good job! And what a nice victory for them! In an incredibly sad and horrible way, 9/11 wasn't without purpose. It made everyone prepared for a large emergency like this. They said "Nobody was severely hurt." As in dead. But broken legs and definitely some hypothermia and shock. Let's not forget about Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD). There is a great book about this that I will try to post more on later, but for now I have to go! And I think it's pretty cool that we've been on one of those ferries!

Great Job NY and to everyone on the plane for staying calm and following orders! I <3 you, NY!

Vicks makes babies SICKER

Good read about why Vicks is bad. http://blog.thenatureschild.com/2009/01/rubbed-wrong-way-vicks-can-make-babies.html I could've told them not to put that stuff on an 18 month old! GEEZ! That stuff burns me!

Ode From Daddy

So there was this show in the early 90s called The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. If you haven't heard of it, I'd be surprised that you would actually be on the Internet right now...but here's a link for you if interested http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098800/ Well, anyways, this is the theme song for it...do you remember it?

"In West Philadelphia born and raised on the playground is where I spent most of
my days chilling out, maxing and relaxing all cool and all shooting some b-ball
outside of school when a couple of guys they were up to no good started making
trouble in our neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared she
said your moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air ..."

Well Josh made up a song for Claire, that goes like this:

"In Central Indiana born and raised on the nipple is where I spent most of my days chilling out, maxing and relaxing all cool and all shooting some wet farts outside of the diaper when a couple of babies they were up to no good started making trouble in our neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared she said your moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air ..."

Daddy Time

Claire loves her Daddy so much! Every day she when she hears the garage door open, she pounds on the back door when he comes home from work and shouts, "door!" repeatedly until he comes in!

And EVEN MORE Christmas Pictures

I decided it's time to get the rest of the Christmas pictures posted. You know, before like, um, say, Valentine's Day gets here! It seems like we were there for weeks, but it wasn't even 5 days.

"WHAT YOU TALKING 'BOUT!?!"
This one is for all of our family in Wisconsin. :) My mom got this hat at one of the football games she went to up there. I think it's football, anyway. I never pay attention to sports. I know, blasphemy.

But hey, I do know that this is for WI team, so we're doing pretty good! She had fun playing with all the toys at Oma and Opas house. Lots of them are toys that I played with when I was little!

Claire fell in love with that hat. She has a hat fetish. She enjoyed dumping these Puffs all over. That's what I get for letting her hold the container. Oops.

She was trying to help put them back in....didn't do a very good job.

And that is the official end to any more Valpo Christmas pictures. :)

Even More Christmas Pictures

Richard chilling with Daisy doggie...surfing the net!
Claire playing with this giant moose at Oma and Opas.

Aww...this one is pretty dang cute!

Oh, and she's even looking....yay!
