BUT MOM!
This is a tall girl bathrobe. I love it. It's super soft and terry cloth. It goes to the floor. Floor-length bathrobes rock. I have 3 different ones. It has a thick collar and long sleeves. Super warm! Well, I run downstairs to answer the door in "just" my bathrobe.
I open the door and it's the Schwan's guy who is about 70 and a tiny old man. He's got a younger guy with him, who is maybe 50. So I say "Hi" and tell the Schwan's man a couple things that I want to order as he punches them into his little hand held.
Then Claire runs around the corner. She's got wet hair and is wearing her footie jammies. She is completely silent. She holds my hand for a second quietly. Then, out of her sweet little mouth, she very, VERY loudly says, "MOMMY!? Why didn't you put your jammies on under your bathrobe?! YOU'RE NAKED!!!"
I glare at her and say "SHH!"
She replies, "But Mom, we can't go outside naked, and you opened the door. And you're naked. I know you have your bathrobe on, but I saw you put it on and you forgot your jammies under it."
By this time I am completely red and laughing and the 2 guys are laughing. Then I just said, "Well that completes my order. I'll go get dressed while you get the food." And I shut the door.
And that, my friends, is why I will never again be answering the door "naked" EVEN if I have a robe on which completely hides my nakedness.

EXCUSE THE THIEF
It was raining out. She wanted to wear her sunglasses. I asked her why. Her reply? "So rain stays out of my eyes." I told her they were for when it was sunny out. She goes, "OH! So your eyes no get sunburn!" Kind of!
We have a little thief. I saw her playing with a white silky scarf I didn't recognize. Uh-oh. I asked her where she got it. "I got it at the garage sale!" Um? I didn't pay for one? So I asked her which one! She says, "The Sleeping Beauty garage sale!" Great! So she jacked it. So do I take it back...or offer her (the lady whose house we got it from) a buck for it? Now I know how parents don't notice things...oops.

Pull-Up Protests
I think the thing that really did it for Claire was that I let her pick her own princess underwear out. She carried it all around the store and was so excited about it. I'll have to remember that when I my current baby boy in utero is ready to potty-train. There was just something really special to her about seeing the different kinds of undies then getting to pick the ones she wanted. Then of course she wanted to wear them!
And the challenge was that she wanted to wear them at night, but wasn't waking up dry all the time. She's had 2 bed-wetting in the past like 4 weeks...and of course both times, she was really upset. She told Daddy, "I peed in the bed all night!" I was like, dear Lord, that's a lot of pee. So here's my question...when do you wake your kid up and sit them on the potty at night...or do you?
She hated wearing the pull-ups to sleep in and protest. Then in the morning, she would run to her dresser, take off the pull-up and put on her panties BEFORE going pee in the morning. I don't want to confuse her by going back and forth...but I don't want to be changing sheets more than ... say once a week with a newborn. How often do you change sheets anyways? Well...and the problem is that it's not just the sheets...it will require full jammie and undie changing. She will have been laying down, so the pee will get on the shirt. I've ditched the footie jammies because she can't easily go potty in those. Also bye-bye super-cute overalls for potty independence...
Another thing we are working on with all the little summer dresses is sitting like a lady...making sure the dress is pulled down, etc. No more cute diaper covers in her size anymore! Yeah, so in the middle of the library, she pulls her dress up. And I don't mean just a little bit up. I mean, up to her chest. And goes, "Mommy, I HAVE TO GO PEE!" Nice. Luckily, she didn't pull her bottoms down...that would have been far worse. So things to work on...we'll get there eventually. In the meantime, I'll try to post these things for your entertainment. ;)

Barbie has the Stickerpox
Yes, Barbie is a state of half-undress. Most Dolls or toys with clothing will probably spend the next year or so like this. Perhaps longer? When is it fun for kids to re-dress the dolls? Not just strip them? She likes to take off Barbie's clothes so she can be in her pink swim suit. Because we all need dolls wearing their swimming gear in December.

Funny Story
Reading his mother's thoughts, Brian volunteered, " I know what you're thinking, Mom, but I assure you Jennifer & I are just roommates."
About a week later, Jennifer said to Brian, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"
Brian replied, "I doubt it but I'll send her an e-mail to be sure."
So he sat down & wrote:
Cute email I got:
Dear Mom,
I'm not saying you 'did' take the gravy ladle and I'm not saying you 'did not,' take the gravy ladle, but the fact remains it's been missing since you were here.
Love, Brian
Several days later, Brian received an e-mail back from his mother:
Dear Son,I'm not saying you 'do' sleep with Jennifer and I'm not saying you 'do not' sleep with Jennifer, but the fact remains that if Jennifer were sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now.
Love, Mom

At 10 PM, put the bag down, set the alarm for midnight and go to sleep.

NEVER AGAIN. EVER.
How I've missed you...not really! I haven't had time! So since my last post I was just cleaning and cleaning and de-crappifying my house. It's great. Welcome to my crap-free zone! Actually, it's still full of crap, but it's at least a LOT LESS! We made about 100 bucks on selling our old crap. Everyone wanted to know. We also sold a crappy TV for about 50 bucks ... so we could say 150. I suppose we could've sold everything on Craigslist or Ebay, which we have done before, but it's work. But a garage sale is a lot more work. I decided to open my garage door on Friday morning to "set up" things. Well that was great...made about 20 bucks on Friday as well. Sold a pool with a hole for 2 bucks! LOL. Anyway, about 1 pm on Saturday, I was getting hot and tired of stupid questions. So I started setting things out to the curb. MAN was it hilarious watching the trash pickers. But seriously, a lady asked me what a book was about. I told her to read the back. Seriously. Buy it and read it yourself. :)
I was also majorly irritated by all the people that pranced their dogs into my garage. I HATE DOGS. Well, let me qualify that. I hate dogs when they get into my personal zone. I do not want their nasty wet little noses on my legs. I do not want them within 10 feet of me or my child. I was also majorly grossed out by a lady paying me with a bag of dog crap waving in front of my face. I was sitting down in the lawn chair and so it was just the right level. Seriously. I'm glad she picked that stuff up but seriously...going garage sale-ing with that. What is wrong with some people.
LOL...on the plus side Josh saw someone picking and offered to load all the garage sale leftovers into the back of his truck. SWEET. We didn't even have to take it to the Goodwill.
Remind me to never have a garage sale again.
EVER.
My first garage sale here.
AND MY LAST!

Ode From Daddy
"In West Philadelphia born and raised on the playground is where I spent most of
my days chilling out, maxing and relaxing all cool and all shooting some b-ball
outside of school when a couple of guys they were up to no good started making
trouble in our neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared she
said your moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air ..."
Well Josh made up a song for Claire, that goes like this:
"In Central Indiana born and raised on the nipple is where I spent most of my days chilling out, maxing and relaxing all cool and all shooting some wet farts outside of the diaper when a couple of babies they were up to no good started making trouble in our neighborhood I got in one little fight and my mom got scared she said your moving in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air ..."

Cookie Wrecks
Here is Josh in his silk Superman robe. YAY for Superman. Josh is my Superman!
Ok, now if you're easily offended, just close your blog browser and just click along on your merry way. Otherwise, prepare to giggle like an immature high schooler! To make our evening a little more fun...we suddenly found ourselves making the cookies dirty. No, not dropping them on the floor, but you'll see. Claire meanwhile ate her chips and some cookie dough. Yummy!
This is what we call doing it DINO-style. We had an odd variety of sprinkles in the cupboard. As you can tell the black and orange ones were from Halloween..and then we used some Christmas ones. What kind of cut-outs should we have used in Mid-Jan? MLK silhouettes?
Notice the special details. I won't describe them in detail, after all, a picture says 1,000 words. Like, wow, you guys need to grow up, or find something better to do...like go sit in a bar, breathe in 2nd hand smoke and get lung cancer, meanwhile spending $20 for 2 weak watered-down drinks that may or may not taste like ass.
Josh made this one. Why he gave him a Hitler-stache is beyond me. Maybe so he could bite his head off in one mighty chomp.
These are 2 doggie-poop piles that I made. Josh had made a big log turd, so I had to 1-up him and get a little more creative. He ate the log-turd still hot and steaming, so I didn't get a picture of it, sadly. I know, you're crying. :)
And here is a Sugarbread Cookie with chocolate chip details, notice the black sprinkles for the body hair.
Don't call us immature, I know you were laughing inside! :) You're going to click on them to see them full-sized, aren't you!?! LOL! These cookies were in honor of this site http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ which posts some funny stuff.
